After well deserved Christmas break and thanks to mild weather, in early January our volunteers got back to work, working at Lawley Village allowing us the ambition of finally running trains to and from Lawley.

At Easter our 2015 season began! This was a very special weekend as now, we are Steaming to Lawley Village! After 30+ years of planning,
50,000 tons of spoil removed, £150,000+ in costs, untold man hours, blood, sweat and tears we are now able to carry passengers through our
tunnel and to Lawley Village.

In April our good friend Carl Harrison paid us a visit with a new toy, an aerial drone. He took some fantastic shots of our railway from a perspective we have never seen before. It is truely breathtaking to see our railway from such an unusal angle. Be sure to take a look!

We had an excellent turnout of visitors, old and new, this weekend and the weather was wonderful too! Rocket was in full operation
until around 3pm where we had some trouble and Rocket was removed from serice. This didn't effect our nor our visitors day though as they
were treated to a service from our 108 DMU!

This year we were proud to recieve a certificate of excellence from Trip Advisor! We have always strived to our very best to entertain and inform our visitors whether they are heritage railway enthusiasts or families looking for a day out with a difference and it seems our visitors are more than happy with the their day out with us!
We also launched our 1940's day event hosting WW2 impressions and re-enactments including opetation Jedburgh, German military lines, French Resistance and British military/civilian scenarios!

In October the BBC requested to film part of an Episode of there popular Home Away From Home programme. It was a great day and every volunteer was on top form with special thanks to our Commerical Director, Mark Paynter for the last minute organisation and to our Chairman Paul Hughes and footplate crew, Ian Heighway and Andy Fox!

Towards the end of October we officially opened Lawley Village Station. The railway was host to an all-star cast of local dignitaries and we were very pleased to have such a fantastic turnout on the day. Some preperations were last minute but apart from a microphone hiccup the event went very smoothly and everyone seemed pleased to be steaming to lawley.

At the end of the year we are pleased to annouce our Santa Specials. This year was a little different, we had online booking for tickets, making the life of our commerical director much easier, we also adjusted how we operated a little and, it was a huge success. Over 2500 visitors attended our Christmas Event thoughout december weekends and our reviews have been excellent! A full write up will follow shortly!

We have had a very successful year at the railway. A huge thanks goes to our band of volunteers who solely manage the entire railway and pour their time and effort each weekend into making our railway such a success. It's not been all plain sailing we have had hicups with Rocket, Storm Barney decided to destroy our new pagoda, but that hasn't stopped us and the volunteers have worked hard making 2015 such a huge success. Finally all we wish to say, is have a great Christmas and New Year and we will see you in our 2016 Season!
