The summer months have so far been very busy for the TSR, both on our steam and diesel running days. We have been able to open a new picnic area by the Horsehay Pool which has been well received by all our visitors especially families. The shop has also seen a brisk trade with the new range of railway related books proving especially popular. We at the TSR are taking nothing for granted though and are remaining focussed for the final few weeks of the running season leading up to the 'Volunteers Open Day' on Sunday 28th Sept. This end of season event is aimed at existing members who are wishing to become more active and involved in the running of their railway and also a chance for us to show potential new members what we have to offer. If you haven't already been to the TSR this year or if you enjoyed your previous visit then please come along and enjoy a day out with us.

This was my father Donald’s nearest line, when a child (b.1901 – 90). His father, John, worked as a patternmaker in the Horsehay works. Hence the interest.
I am now 76, disabled after a stroke. It’s difficult to get about, but I did enjoy your Blog of progress until the calamities of a couple of years ago. Any chance of their being resumed?
    Yours sincerely,

      Hi John,

Thank you for your interest. We always appreciate it when people contact us with personal recollections about the area and the railway in general, it adds a human touch. We have a Facebook Group that has more regular updates but we are working on having an active blog on our official website. Please keep checking back for new updates,

      Best regards,

      Mark
