As we start the new year of 2015 a reminder of how you can help the Telford Steam Railway raise much needed funds. Like many heritage railways and charities we at the TSR raise money through the collection and disposal of waste paper and scrap metal. So we ask all of you who live in the borough of Telford & Wrekin to please consider the railway when disposing of your waste paper and metal. Our waste paper skip is located next to our engine shed and is accessible to the public. The sooner we can fill it then the sooner we can have it emptied and see the funds raised paid in to our bank account. For waste/scrap metal disposal then this has to be done when there are volunteers on site as our waste metal skips are not accessible to the public. We can accept most waste metal including steel tins/cans, general metal scrap, aluminium tins/scrap and domestic appliances like washers, dryers and cookers. If you are able to donate any of the above then please remember to keep any aluminium separate from general metal. The point of contact for any enquiries for the scrap drive is our Operations Director, Ian Loffman. If you have an old domestic appliance for disposal but do not have the means to drop it off at our site in Horsehay then please contact the Commercial Director, Mark Paynter, via the ‘contact us’ page. We can try to organize suitable arrangements for its collection. We CANNOT accept fridge freezers or chest freezers as these have to be disposed of through professional channels.
All your help is much appreciated by all the volunteers at the TSR. Thank you.
