Lawley! Old ground on new metals. The re-opening of a dream, Sat 4th April, 2015.

This Saturday 4th April, 2015, the Telford Steam Railway will realize a long held ambition with the re-introduction of passenger services to Lawley. In the three months since Christmas, 2014, our volunteers have worked wonders in turning a mud coated site into a practical and useable station. The celebrations start for our members at 11am on Saturday with the departure, from Spring Village, of a members only service to Lawley and then on to Horsehay & Dawley where light refreshments will be available in our tearoom. All our members are invited to attend and upon confirmation of a valid membership will be invited to board the train. The first revenue earning public service will depart Spring Village at 12 noon on Saturday with demand expected to be busy. So please turn up in plenty of time to avoid disappointment.

The opening of the platform at Lawley doesn’t mean that work has finished. This is but a step forward, a big step granted, in the TSR achieving its goal of reaching Ironbridge. Come and be a part of it and show your support this weekend by taking a trip over old ground but on new metals!
