Our hugely succesful 2015 Summer Season comes to an end this coming Sunday 27th Sept. So the race is on for those of you who have yet to sample the delights of our railway. Not only will all our attractions be in operation but also the Telford & District Amateur Radio Society (TDARS) will be in attendance presenting a unique insight into their passion and also taking part in the ‘Railways On The Air’ event. This event sees amateur radio clubs all over the country setting up at their local heritage railway and transmitting stories, information, historical pieces and more between all the different participating sites. It should prove to be an interesting day, especially if we have our Chairman, Kim-Jong Paul of the Peoples Republic of Telford Steam Railway (in-house joke 😉 ) giving an interview. So the weather is forecast to hold and play along, all our attractions will be running meaning steam galore, unless the gremlins strike in the night, the tearoom cooking up a treat as always, we’ll have visitors here on the longwave and our amazing volunteers looking forward to a well earned end of season break….until the following week when we start infrastructure works. Not only that but our excellent shop has new stocks of two bestsellers in ‘Railways of East Shropshire’ and ‘Severn Valley Railway – 50 Glorius Years’. Why a book about the Severn Valley Railway? Because the last six pages of the book contain and impressive article about our very own TSR. If you don’t already own a copy then make sure you are there this Sunday to buy one as stocks are selling fast. So one last push from all of us here at the Telford Steam Railway to go out on a high which would not be complete without you, our visitors and supporters. See you Sunday.
